The Email Leak That Embarrassed Jamie Foxx Show Star Garcelle Beauvais

From 1996 to 2001, Haitian-born actress Garcelle Beauvais starred opposite Jamie Foxx on the sitcom The Jamie Foxx Show. Garcelle played Jamie's love interest, Fancy. "I think the reason why I got the job was because I wasn't really competing to be funnier than he was," she says. "The show was about him and I had to just support him."

In the middle of the show's five-season run, Garcelle divorced her first husband, with whom she had a son. "I was a single mom, working actress in Hollywood, and I really wanted to be careful and choose wisely on the man that I would bring home to my son," she says.

After remarrying in 2001, Garcelle says she thought she'd won the husband lotto, but after nine years of marriage, she claims she discovered he was cheating. That night, Garcelle sent an email to her husband's co-workers accusing him of a five-year affair. The email was leaked to the New York Post, where it was printed word for word. "When I actually looked and realized it had been leaked, I was sobbing, sobbing. It's embarrassing," she says. "It was another part of the devastation, honestly."
